Made in NZ from PLA, EcoBeans are produced entirely from sustainable, annually renewable starches, without additives. The foam beads are water-resistant and great for bean bag fill, providing superior, durable support. They are an excellent replacement for the harmful, everlasting EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) beads.

EcoBeans are produced by expanding PLA using New Zealand’s own ZealaFoam™ technology. PLA is well-proven to be biodegradable, breaking down into carbon dioxide, water, and humus, a soil nutrient. This helps reduce landfill, litter, and pollution — a zero-waste, circular economy product. For thicknesses up to 2.0mm, the PLA raw material is certified commercially compostable to EN 13432 (EU), ASTM D 6400 (USA), and GreenPla (Japan). PLA can also be used for energy recovery through incineration, burning cleanly without harmful residues. In all respects, this foam bead has a superior TLCA (Total Life Cycle Analysis).
